2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

I have to say that the FJ Cruiser is to me one of the ugliest vehicles on the road. Oddly shaped, and boxy I just don't care for the looks myself. Edmunds says that under that funky exterior the FJ is very similar to the 4Runner. While the FJ looks very off-roadish, the base model is two wheel drive only, though even base models sport standard electronic traction control and limited-slip rear differential. Edmunds had a problem finding a FJ to add to their test fleet, as like the PT Cruiser in its heyday, most are pre-sold.
Editors commented on the FJ's ride as being quite good. However, the optional TRD exhaust on the test ride was slammed for wimpy sound and reducing departure angles. The FJ also requires premium fuel which was called criminal by one Edmunds editor. I don't care how ell it performs, I still find it ugly.
