A Classic for Your Living Room

Looks real, doesn't it? In fact, what you're looking at is a 1:8 scale Alfa Touring assembled at The Modeller's Workshop of Montreal, typical of what this small firm can build for you if you're not into model-making yourself. Like the other models in the range it is incredibly detailed, with many moving parts and very realistic upholstery and trim.
Built-up models of this size are not inexpensive but as company owner Rick Shousha points out, if you compute the number of hours it might take to do the job yourself the price is a Bargain
.Not all the models are in that scale, however. Others are a more compact 1:24 and can be purchased as a diorama, where the vehicle sits in a natural setting with road, grass, buildings and other props. I must confess I've always liked dioramas because they allow me to view the car as I might normally see it. Unfortunately if I added even one to my little condo I've have to move out. But if I was a rich man...
The Modeller's Workshop also offers kits so you can do the work yourself and provides online instructions plus manuals for the novice builder. Whether you enjoy the art of model making or simply find pleasure in admiring the finished product, do take a look at the Web site. Some of the models shown, such as the 1:8 scale 1907 Fiat Racer and Alfa Silver Bullet, are absolutely stunning.
