Bigger?!

I'm sorry, I thought we all got the "smaller" memo. So why is it that GM just released the biggest SUVs yet? These things are monsterslinks. Over 130-ich wheelbase... that's gotta be near the size of my entire car! Why is GM moving forward with making big SUVs? I know these were in the works long ago, but did it make sense to continue work on them and then release them?

I have to admit I hadn't read much about these before now (I know there was plenty of info floating around before this) since I tend to focus more on car rides rather than trucks, but I'm still pretty surprised at the size of these trucks.

That being said, for what they are they look pretty decent (can't say GM doesn't know how to build a big truck). The GMC model (pictured) has much nicer look than the Chevy, but both models look well-thought-out. But, in an era of pretty pricey gas, plenty of evidence that SUVs are not safer than cars, and perfected minivans, do big SUVs make as much sense anymore? Thanks to Autoblog for the info.
