Some you win and some you lose. Chrysler's Crossfire, in spite of its attractive styling, has become a misfire. According to
Autoblog, the Crossfire managed 28,000 sales in 2004, but less than 10,000 in 2005. It's days are numbered. Meanwhile, "south of the border down Mexico way" (to quote an old pop tune), they've just celebrated production of the one-millionth PT Cruiser at the Toluca plant. The PT Cruiser has been a success for Chrysler since its inception. Now the company has announced a $1 billion investment in its Mexican manufacturing operations to modernize and re-tool the facilities and create new industrial parks for suppliers, providing the Toluca facility with the flexibility to
manufacture
derivative models on one assembly line.
