Ever Get The Feelin' You Was Bein' Watched?

Sorry this isn't totally car-related, but as I was reading the news this popped out at me in a big way. You know, it doesn't take a whole lot for me to become paranoid. Those kids were laughing at me! I'm telling you! I just read that Britain will be begin watching every car trip!
Britain is to become the first country in the world where the movements of all vehicles on the roads are recorded. A new national surveillance system will hold the records for at least two years. That is heavy stuff. No matter where you go, what you do, who you visit---it'll be monitored. Now, I'm not looking to go off on a rant or anything, but that's gotta seem pretty draconian to everyone. I don't care that I'm not doing anything illegal, don't follow me! And for you British folks having affairs... take a bus!
Using a network of cameras that can automatically read every passing number plate, the plan is to build a huge database of vehicle movements so that the police and security services can analyse any journeya driver has made over several years.
