It wasn't all that long ago that what seemed like the entire Ferrari enterprise lined up to be pictured with the former Pope
, His Holiness, John Paul II. But with the ushering in of Pope Benedict XVI, the Vatican seems to have taken a less kindly shine to car companies whose rolling stock are used "as a means for outshining other people and arousing a feeling of envy." The Vatican issued the ten commandments for motoring recently, which has caused a ruckuss in parts of the world - including Maranello, Italy.
Ferrari General Manager Amedeo Felisa was quoted by Reuters as saying he didn't believe that buying a Ferrari was sinful. And he went on to explain that most Ferrari owners drive them not for vanity but for the love of driving (yeah, ok).
But with some reflection, a li'l bit of the devil did rise from Ferrari's GM. "You should commit at least one from time to time."
