Fiat X1/9

X1/9 that lives near me. It hasn't been here long, so someone must have just picked it up. This was the car, back in 1986, that got me jazzed up about cars. I had a white one with a 5-speed manual transmission and it's the car that I learned to drive a manual transmission in. I never bucked/stalled/rolled backwards so much in my life! I had nothing problems with that car: wouldn't start in the rain, wouldn't start in the sun, when it rained there was water in the footwells, but man. I felt like a million bucks in that car. The two things that come to mind now: 1. where are today's small sports cars like this? I guess we have the Solstice and the Miata? (Is that it?) 2. This car looked so, so, so great without the bumpers. I never thought of removing them. It totally looks like a racecar with them removed. Has anyone out there owned a Fiat X1/9? Here's a great page I found about the X1/9: Roger's Fiat X1/9 Page (click on My X1/9).Permalink: Fiat X1/9
