GM Hopes Limited Edition LeMans Vette Will Attract Europeans

According to a report from the Financial Times, GM's premier nameplates are not doing at all well in Europe (no surprise). Cadillac is doing especially poorly, there's little incentive for the small BLS to attract buyers from Opel
or Saab since the sedans look practically identical (they share the same platform). And Corvette, despite being pitched as the relative bargain to the Porsche 911, has been roundly trounced by the Stuttgart sportscar maker. Chevrolet's performance car sold just 1,290 units - a record for European sales - but far below what GM hopes for.
To entice more buyers, the General will produce 250 limited edition LeMans Corvettes with an as-of-yet undefined increase horsepower and adjustments made to the suspension.
