Saab Aero X Blows Them Away in Geneva, Bob and I Celebrate

One of the enthusiasms we share is an admiration for Saabs. In particular the "real" Saabs with huge hatchbacks, turbo-fours, and a ton of character. In fact, my personal honor list of great Saabs goes back to a time when Bob wasn't born and I was dashing around in slippery little 3-cylinder DKW-engined fastbacks designed by aircraft engineers.
Bob and I do not approve of GM's handling of Saab, especially the attempt to link Saab with Subaru in a big, ugly SUV. We accept that the economics of today's auto industry make platform-sharing inevitable and if that links Saab with Opel and Saturn, hey, it's fine with us. As long as Saabs look, perform, and feel like true Swedes.
And so we hail the Saab Aero X concept unveiled in Geneva as a step back to its roots and a step forward in design. For the technical details and more photos, please go to Autoblog... Bob and I are too busy celebrating what we hope is a rebirth of Saab's aviation origins. And wishing for a new 3-door/5-door with "huge hatchbacks, turbo-fours, and a ton of character."
