Seven Smaller?

Picture of 2005 BMW 7-Series

Hot on the heels for Phil's post about the RAV4 getting bigger, I read that BMW's too-ugly-for-some 7-Series is being redesigned for 2009 and it's going to be, (Phil, sit down for this one)... smaller! That's right. According to Edmunds, "the next 7 Series, coming in late 2008, will be less radical-looking, smaller and sportier." The article goes on to say something that confuses the heck out of me: The long-wheelbase model will be 5.5 inches longer... So I'm not sure where the smaller comes in. But, I think, it's a good sign that BMW is looking to do whatever it takes to make sure even the biggest BMW remains true to its roots. Eventually, Phil and Jasonlinks will have to get behind the wheel and let us know for sure. Thanks to Jalopnik for the link. Jalopnik rocks.
