I always wondered what the attraction was for Tata to expand their horizons by negotiating with Ford for Land Rover and Jaguar.

Now, from a global perspective, the Detroit News is questioning Tata Motor Group's judgment in purchasing a "serial value destroyer like Jaguar and barely profitable Land Rover." Further, the paper reports, it makes no sense to produce these vehicles in Europe for the U.S., so the entire operation would have to move to India. Serious questions remain as the deal moves toward fruition.
