According to UK Auto mag Auto Express, the excitement with which the Brits greeted last year's outstanding Chevrolet Camaro concept has doubled this year with the addition of the convertible version that's hit the Detroit Auto Show.
GM has promised to export both hot rods
to the Land of Hope and Glory not long after production starts. This means that the British can expect a delivery time somewhere late 2008, early 2009. The price of the new convertible is expected to retail in the neighborhood of £28,000. If the Chevy drop-top were to be sold today at current currency rates, that price would be the equivalent of $54,040 and CDN$63,560, respectively!
Any North American resident seeking to drive with Yank flash in the UK is best advised to buy one this side of the Pond first, then ship via container to costly Britannia. You'd still have to pay import taxes, but the savings would be phenomenal.
