As if Detroit doesn't have enough problems to deal with, now it seems pickup truck sales are starting, rather continuing, to slide.

To be fair, it's not like the Japanese have been hitting home-runs with the pickup truck market, either. nissan's Titan and Honda's Ridgeline are both selling below expectations and Honda even reduced Ridgeline production.

At the end of January, Chrysler had a 142-day supply of Ram trucks, Ford's F-Series stood at 124 days, and 122 days' worth of Nissan Titans were waiting to be sold.

A long time ago, I had a great new F-150 and let me tell you, it was awesome. It was no car, but it's what I wanted at the time and it fulfilled my truck yearning. I gotta tell you, though, what they say about trucks is true: if you have one, people want you to help them move. Maybe slower truck sales is an indication of people saying, "My moving days are over."
