According to Britain's Autocar magazine, Bentley Motors is set to transplant the W16 engine that powers the $1,000,000+ Bugatti Veryon into the heart of its four-door saloon extraordinaire - the Arnage.
Bentley's CEO, who incidentally is Bugatti's own, Franz-Josef Paefgen (recently interviewed by Fortune Magazine) is said to the driving force behind putting the world's largest production engine (1,001 bhp) into the engine bay of a rear-wheel drive
luxury saloon. "The current Arnage's 6.75-litre V8 pumps out up to 500bhp, while the Flying Spur's W12 packs even more: 552bhp. It seems likely, then that Bentley will want the new Arnage to pull ahead of its stablemate and offer even more power. It also means that the new Arnage might well be able to top the Flying Spur's 200mph-plus top speed," Autocar reported.
The show of engine force all displays the company's commitment to the aging, but beautiful Arnage line.
