What the World Drives - Canada

For our weekly feature this week it's time to take a northern excursion to our Molson drinking friends in the frozen tundra
. Today we take you to our close buddy and neighbor Canada to see what the top 5 selling cars of 2007 were.Compact cars were still the strongest sellers in Canada during the past year as the Honda Civic celebrates its 10th consecutive year atop the Canadian chart.

Mazda comes in second with the Mazda3. The cars performance is impressive, considering that it is available as a 5-door hatchback or a sedan, while five distinct cars are currently sold under the name Civic: two coupes, two sedans and the Hybrid.

The Toyota Corolla was able to hang on to its bronze-medal spot in spite of being the only car to show lower sales for the year among the top five, with its 8.4-per-cent slide. Help is on the way for Toyota's sedan - still the best-selling nameplate in history worldwide - with the imminent arrival of a fully-redesigned 2009 Corolla.

Sitting in the fourth slot is the Toyota Yaris.

Rounding out the fabulous 5 is the Chevy Cobalt.
