It started a few years back with the Tahoe Hybrid and it has kept going from there. Now for all the SUV loving mom's who don't want to see their children die before their forties thanks to the effects of global warming, something new is hitting the market. Something new and something exciting, green SUVs.
The Toyota Rav 4-- a favorite with families, is being reconditioned to run completely on electricity. That's right folks, an SUV you can charge up and go. Their are currently versions of this car available that have been given out to special individuals and business. The car in its current state runs entirely on a "27.4-kilowatt-hour nickel-metal hydride battery' that will take drivers about 120 MPH. These previously released models were give out between 1997-2003. The new model will likely have a lot more quirks but it won't hit the market until next year. It is expected to run somewhere in around the 40 K mark, nearly twice as much as its fuel ran sibling.
