How To Spend Less Money On Gas

© futureatlas.comGasoline prices go up by approximately twenty percent during the summer time because more people tend to do their travel this time of the year.
Right now, a gallon of gas costs an average of $2.92 compared to the usual $2.44 the rest of the year. It's really a simple case of supply and demand. Of course, there are other factors that affect gasoline prices which we have no control over like crude oil prices and federal and state taxes.
Still, there are steps people can easily take to control how much they pay at the pump:
Driving smoothly. Frequent speed fluctuations will result in mileage going down by a third. That's $0.14 more per gallon you spend on city driving and $0.94 more while driving on the highway.
Monitoring tire pressure. Tires that are inflated at the right pressure will cost you 4 percent less gas than when they are improperly inflated. And tires kept at the right pressure will have longer lifetimes too.
Sticking to the speed limit. Most cars will lose fuel efficiency when driven above 60 miles per hour. Keeping the speed limit will increase fuel efficiency by an average of 23%.
Driving a small-engine car. Small engines need less fuel than large engines. Period.

Nissan Trucks

© jwalton4thOne of America's favorite truck manufacturers is none other than Nissan - the makers of both the Frontier and the Titan. Nissan trucks have been praised for their long life spans and reliability. Whether you were looking for a sporty truck with style or a dependable work truck, Nissan had a truck for you.
One of the latest models includes the compact, sleek, and economically advanced Nissan Frontier that was one of the first compact trucks to be made available with four full doors. For a larger, roomier truck with more raw power at the pedal the preferred model would be none other than the Nissan Titan.
It's a large utilitarian behemoth of a truck with enough power to pull even your largest payload with ease. The Nissan Titan is becoming increasingly popular as more American's get behind the wheel. Manufactured in Canton, MS, USA there's no truck that knows American living like a Nissan.

The Safest SUVs

© woodleywonderworksThis day in age one of the most dangerous places one could find themselves is on the road. It doesn't matter what you're driving or where you're driving, there's literally a hazard around every corner.
Sometimes even your trusted family vehicle could be a ticking time bomb. Whether there was some needed maintenance that was never done or poor manufacturing resulting in faulty parts that fail when you least expect it, your very own automobile can malfunction at any time. In a situation such as this there's one area in which you don't want your car or truck to fail - collision safety.
No matter what vehicle interests you the most you should always pay close attention to a vehicle's safety rating when making a purchase. Some of the most dangerous vehicle are SUVs since they're top-heavy and more likely to flip. The safest SUVs are the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Chevrolet Equinox, and the Toyota Highlander.

Best New Car Purchase Tips

© LukaIsntLukaThere are many tips that are only related to used cars, and then there are some tips that are only related to new cars. This blog is all about my best new car purchase strategies and tips. Getting a new car is a huge purchase. So here are some things to keep in mind, in order to make sure you make a smart choice.
Can you afford it? It is is super important to make sure that you are going to be able to make the payments on your new car. Payments for new cars can get extremely high. If you can't afford the payment you face repossession of the car and loss of credit status. This is something you definitely want to avoid.
Is there enough room? Always try the car out and make sure there will be enough room for you and your family. Remember that you will likely be paying on this car for a while, so think into the future as well.
Pay as much as you can each month If you can afford to pay the car off in two years do it. Extending a car loan for five or six years adds thousands and thousands of dollars to the final price of the car.

Tips for Purchasing a Used Truck or Car

© ryantxrIn my life I have purchased several used vehicles. There are certain things that anyone purchasing a used truck or car needs to do before they hand over the cash. For the most part used vehicle purchases are the largest as-is, non-refundable investments that you will make. Here are some things to keep in mind when purchasing a used vehicle.
Always take a look under the hood. Check the oil to make sure that it is full and looks good. Watery oil and extremely thick oil are both bad signs. Unsightly or leaking oil can equal expensive repairs that you do not want to get involved in.
Drive the car. You never want to purchase any car, but especially a used vehicle without purchasing it first. I once had a man at a used car dealership tell me had to jump a car off before I could test it because the batter was dead. Needless to say I didn't purchase the car. I did test drive it just for the benefit of a doubt but it shook all over the road and made horrible noises.
Try FSBO first. For sale by owner purchases tend to be a better deal than used car dealership purchases. Dealerships are trying to make a higher profit off of the vehicle than most individuals. While on this subject, it is important to mention the Blue Book value of a vehicle. Always check to make sure that the car you are purchasing is not over the Blue Book value. If it is bring it to the attention of the seller, but never spend more than it is worth.
